Marlene A. Ely

Marlene A. Ely, 89, passed away suddenly on October 19, 2026. Born May 20, 1937 to Joseph and Christina Brandani and was raised in Alliance, Oh. She married her high school sweetheart Duain Ely and moved to Springfield Township, where she was a homemaker raising 5 boys. She was very artistic and creative and there was very little she couldn’t do. She enjoyed spending time with her family. Now she has rejoined her sweetheart and next month will enjoy her 70th wedding anniversary in Heaven.

Marlene was preceded in death by her parents, Christina and Joseph Brandani; her husband of 67 years, Duain N. Ely; brothers, Ernest Genetin, Joseph (Carol) Genetin; and sisters, Kathleen (Glenn) Stertzbach and Geraldine (Ken) Aellig. She is survived by her sister, Barbara (Gene) Lozier; children, Daryl (Gayle), David, Bryon (Cathy), Stephen (Cheryl), Joseph (Tammy); grandchildren, Brittany (James), Rachel, Anthony, Hannah, Ryan, Jordan, Alex and Dylan; 4 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; brother-in-law, Arthur (Beverly) Ely; sister-in-law, June Ely; and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received Saturday, October 31st from 11am to 1pm at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 3553 Northdale St. NW, Uniontown, OH 44685. Memorial service will begin at 1pm with interment to follow at East Liberty Cemetery.
