Mary Jo Blair

Mary Jo Blair (Waggoner), long time resident of Akron, Ohio, and Springfield, Ohio, passed peacefully in the early morning hours of Wednesday March 4, 2026.

She always loved to garden, and to take care of the neighborhood animals, adopting several cats and dogs throughout her life. With her husband, they loved to shoot bow and arrow. She stayed active, whether walking the malls shopping for her several grandchildren and great grandchildren, or going out to eat with her sister Judy Heupel.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Michael Blair, sister, Cheryl Waggoner, parents, Everett and Macel Waggoner, and daughter-in-law, Beverly Zushin.

She leaves behind one sister, Judy (Ray Heupel), one brother, Mike Waggoner, three sons and their families; James and Pamela Zushin (Peter-James, Carly, and Ben), Tom Zushin (Stephen Zushin), John Zushin (John Zushin), step-daughter Michelle Blair, and Great-Grandchildren Alice, Benson, Mary, August, and Oliver.

Her interment with her husband at Ohio Western Reserve Cemetery to follow.
