Oliver "Homer" Burket

Reverend Oliver "Homer" Burket born on December 6, 1937, to Roy and Grace Burket, went to his Heavenly home Saturday, June, 27, 2020. He was married to Colleen (Wagner) for 63 years and the father of six children: Steve (Sara) Burket, Roy (Pam) Burket, Sue Kolat (Mike), Paul (in Heaven) and his wife Cheri Burket, Don (Conni) Burket, and Andrea Burton (John). He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Sally Fetter, Louise Eicher and Lois Rafferty; and many in-laws, nephews, nieces and dear friends. He was the Pastor of Springfield Fellowship Church for 47 years. He enjoyed golf and fishing and was competitive in many sports. He enjoyed telling stories and jokes and making others laugh (or groan as the case may be). He had a hole-in-one in golf and three perfect games in bowling. Those accomplishments didn’t mean anything on Saturday night when his Lord called him home. The things he did that mattered were accepting Jesus as his Savior and Lord of his life. Along with Colleen, he served Christ, our family, and the Church faithfully. He loved people well and taught us the ways of Jesus by example in obedience, prayer, love and faithfulness. Celebration of Life on Friday, July 3, 2020 at 10:30 a.m., at Springfield Fellowship Church, 830 Ewart Rd, Akron, 44312, led by Pastors Roy Burket and John Burton.
