Philip Klein, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and faithful servant of God, passed away peacefully on May 2, 2025, at 12:51 pm. He was surrounded by his loved ones as he stepped into eternity, his faith fulfilled. He was the last of his five siblings, John, Adam, Elizabeth, Esther and Dave.
Phil was a devoted husband, a wise and compassionate father, and a proud Papa to many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Juanita; his four children, Bobbi, Juanita (Tom), Essie, and John; grandchildren, Nikki, Erin (Danny), Ashley (Tyler), Jesse, Hannah (Aaron), Zach, and Dylan (Amanda); and great-grandchildren, Ryan May, Ruby, Trey, Marlo, Lennox, Aurora, Dexter, and Arden, who will carry on his legacy of faith and love.
Though he grew up in Akron, he went all over the world during his time spent in the Merchant Marines and the Marines during WWII and the Korean War. He set up his family in Brimfield, Ohio where he purchased land that many of his kids and grandkids still live on to this day.
Phil dedicated his life to serving others and honoring God in all he did. His deep and unwavering faith was the foundation of his life and an inspiration to all who knew him. He lived each day with humility, love, and a quiet strength that came from his trust in the Lord.
He found joy in life’s simple things, none more than watching his grandkids and great grandkids, enjoying a piece of hot Italian sausage (with any meal) and the sound of a Harley passing. He had a deep love for golf and spent most of his life on the green or scuba gear diving for golf balls as a retriever. He instilled a love for travelling in his family- encouraging a “let's get out of here” trip whenever he could. From “Klein Sunday” family dinners, to hikes and golf cart rides, any moment he had was spent with his family. His legacy lives on through those he nurtured and loved, teaching by example how to walk humbly and love deeply. And most importantly, that living a content life is as good as any.
Though our hearts are heavy with his passing, we rejoice in knowing that he is now at peace in the presence of his Savior. His life was a testimony to the goodness of God, and his memory will continue to guide and uplift us. He lived a long life, and all the stories that came with it could fill a good book. Anyone that had the pleasure of knowing him, knows that 98 years was just not enough.
