Ralph E. Althauser

Ralph “Sonny” Althauser, 83, of Mogadore, Ohio was joyfully received into Heaven on June 24, 2025 after courageously battling health issues post-COVID.

Sonny was born in Barberton, Ohio on May 2, 1942. He went to Barberton High and loved the color purple. On July 4, 1963, he met his love Phyllis and they were married just weeks later on August 2, 1963. They had almost 62 wonderful years together. Sonny worked for BF Goodrich for 21 years, 18 years at Omnova Solutions, and worked for the Village of Mogadore for four years before retiring. Before COVID he was on two golf teams and a bowling team and loved to watch the Mogadore WIldcats. His favorite pastime was sitting on his porch with his beloved cat, Louie, and enjoying good food.

Sonny was preceded in death by his beloved children, Mark Althauser and Amy Roberts; sisters, Pat Cardis and Diane Moore; brother-in-laws, Guy “Junior” Pearson, Don Cardis, Bob Wilkins (Mona), and Gary Picklesimer; sister-in-laws, Cathy Pearson and Joan Summers. He leaves to cherish his memory loving wife, Phyllis; son, Mike; son-in-law, Mike Roberts; sister-in-law, Linda Picklesimer; brother-in-laws, Jim Pearson, Gary Moore, and Dan Summers; grandchildren, Corrine, Mickey (Marissa), Max, Charlie, Johnny (Jennifer), Amanda; great grandchildren, Ella Rae, Emily Lou, and Baby Roberts, due any day.

Family and friends will be received Tuesday, July 1st from 4 to 7pm at Donovan Funeral Home, 34 S. Cleveland Ave. Mogadore, OH 44260. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 2nd at 1pm with Rev. Bernard Christy officiating. Burial to follow at Greenwood Mogadore Cemetery.
