Richard L. Bailey

Richard Bailey, 95 of Akron Ohio passed away peacefully on 8/18/2025. 

He was born in Middleport, Ohio, and proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War, where he was honorably discharged. After his military service, Richard dedicated his career to Ohio Edison until his retirement. Richard was a devoted member of South East Church of Christ, where he found great joy and purpose in his faith and his church. 

He is preceded in death by his loving wife Doris Bailey, daughter Marie Rumpler, sister Mae Romine, and brothers Harry, Robert, and Paul Bailey. He is survived in death by his brother, Jim Bailey, grandson, Steven Bailey; granddaughter, Stacy Bailey; and great-grandchildren, Ayden, Rowen, Adysen, and Emersyn. 

Family and friends are invited to a memorial service on Saturday, August 23, 2025 at 1pm at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Rd. Akron, OH 44312. There will be one hour of visitation directly before the service.
