Robert J. “Bob” Bowyer, age 92, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by loving family on May 20, 2021.
Born in Cleveland, Bob lived in the Springfield Township area for most of his life. He attended high school in Columbus, OH and served in the Navy. He worked at Goodyear Aerospace; retiring after over thirty years of service. He was an active member of Clearview United Methodist Church. Bob loved traveling the world, sailing, model airplanes, and model trains; all of which he loved to do with his dear wife and sons.
Bob was preceded in death by his sister, Dorothy Ackerman of Columbus and son, David Bowyer of Twin Falls, Idaho. He is survived by his dear wife of almost sixty-five years, Carol (Croskey) Bowyer; sons, Mark (Lesley) Bowyer of Mount Jackson, VA and Paul (Teresa) Bowyer of Concord, OH; daughter-in-law, Melody Bowyer of Twin Falls, Idaho; grandchildren, Sean Bowyer of Concord, Aaron Bowyer of Mount Jackson, Ryan, Rachel, and Reagan Bowyer, all of Twin Falls; step grandson, Tobias Buckell; step granddaughter, Freya O’Neil; and four precious great-granddaughters.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials in memory of Bob be made to your favorite charity.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, May 25th at 11 A.M. at Clearview United Methodist Church, 1733 Massillon Rd. Akron, OH 44312. The memorial will be officiated by Bob’s son, Pastor Mark Bowyer, and Pastor Jerry Killian of Clearview United Methodist Church. Family and friends will be received an hour prior to the service.
