Robert F. Carter

Robert F. “Bob” Carter, 94, passed away June 1, 2012.

Born in Mayfield, Ky., he lived most of his life in the Akron and Canton areas, retiring from B.F. Goodrich after 48 years of service.

Bob enjoyed being involved in bowling and softball leagues, working in the yard, and spending his free time fishing and golfing.

Preceded in death by his sister, Louise Gough, he is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mary; children, Carol (Richard) Mastin, Robert T. (Linda), Richard G. (Mary), Margaret (Mark) Cole and Michael L. (Linda); 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral service will be held Monday, 1 p.m. at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Rd., Akron 44312, with Ben Page officiating. Burial will take place at Hillside Memorial Park.  Friends may call at the funeral home from 12 noon until service time on Monday. Memorials may be made to the Humane Society of the United States, c/o HSUS,
