Robert Lee Phillips

Robert Lee Phillips, age 81, entered into rest on October 6, 2012 in Nashville, TN.

He was born on June 5, 1931 in Akron, Ohio the son of Helen and Roland Phillips. Robert proudly served his country as a Beach Jumper in the U.S. Navy in the Korean War. He was a carpet installer and worked for O’Neils and Allen-Keith Construction. Robert was a Mason of Amos H. Englebeck Lodge #751 F&AM and was a member at the Army-Navy Garrison #273 in Lakemore. He was also an avid golfer and reader.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Michael Zimmerman; grandchildren, Olivia Lee and Brandon Michael Zimmerman; and Julie’s mother, Carol Hopkins. Friends may call Tuesday, from 4 to 7 p.m., at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Rd., Akron, Ohio 44312, where the funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. Masonic services will be conducted Tuesday 6:45 p.m. by Wayfarer Lodge #789 F. & A.M. Burial Wednesday, 9:30 a.m., at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio.
