Ruth M. Horning

Ruth M. Horning, 95, went home to be with the Lord on May 5, 2026.

Born in Suffield, she graduated from Suffield High School and lived in the area most of her life. Ruth was a homemaker, taking pride in raising her children and caring for her home. She was a member of St. Joe Altar Society and Mother of Twins. She loved to golf and bowl.

Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, William in 2012. She is survived by her children, Ronald (Erin), Donald (Kerrie), Rebecca Ardnt, Virginia (Larry) Baughman, Linda (Rick) Shilts, Brenda (Tom) Dube, Rita (Gordon) Otto; 21 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren.

Family and friends will be received Thursday, May 14th from 4 to 7pm at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Rd. Akron, OH 44312. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, May 15th at 11am at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 2643 Waterloo Rd. Mogadore, OH 44260. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to The Village of St. Edward Foundation, 3131 Smith Rd. Akron, OH 44333.
