Sandra S. Anderson

Sandra Sue (Kannal) Anderson, age 86, danced into the loving arms of Jesus on September 10, 2025, surrounded by her family. She was born on May 30, 1939 in Columbiana, Ohio. She married David in 1961. Serving in the Army, David was stationed in Germany and Sandra went with him. After that, they lived in Austintown, Ohio, then Akron, Ohio, eventually settling in Uniontown, Ohio in 1976.

She was a member of The Chapel in Green and enjoyed being a door greeter for many years before dementia took its toll on her.

From childhood on, Sandra loved music and loved to sing and dance. She taught her daughters “The Stroll” and laughed about how she used to dance at the “sock hops” in the 50s. She danced at her daughter’s weddings, her grandson’s wedding, her granddaughter’s wedding. She used to blast music at home and danced while she did housework. She loved 50s Doo-Wop music, 70s rock (the Carpenters were her favorite) then later in life she loved worship music. In the last few years, the cruelty of dementia took a lot from her, but it didn’t rob her of music or even dancing. When she was in rehab in February of 2025, she and dad enjoyed an Elvis impersonator, and the director sent her daughters a video of mom in her wheelchair, moving her arms in time with the music. Now she is dancing in Heaven, whole and healed!

Preceded in death by her parents Harry and Lois Kannal, brothers, Larry Kannal and Clarence Kannal. She is survived by her faithful husband, David, daughters Vicki (Ed) Caswell, Michelle (Steve) Mitchell, Tricia (Tom) Miller, grandchildren Matt (Paniz) Mitchell, Heather (Garrett) Bittner, Emily and Gwen Miller, great-grandchildren Ben and Blair Bittner. Sister, Vicki Tucker, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

A service will be held Tuesday, September 16 at Noon at The Chapel in Green, 1800 Raber Road, Uniontown. An hour of visitation will be from 11:00AM – Noon.
