Thomas Rex Nay, 67, passed away on February 13, 2026.
Born October 14, 1958, Tom was the son of the late Marshall and Maxine Nay. He is preceded in death by his brother, William Nay and father-in-law Paul Cain. Tom is survived by his devoted wife of 45 years, Dena Nay; his children, Caitlin (Alex) Reynolds, Lisa (James) Forquer, and Spencer (Grace Dumot) Nay; his five grandchildren, Olivia, Liam, Jack, Elliot, and Elizabeth; brothers Frank, John and Mike Nay, mother-in-law Dorothy Cain, brothers-in-law David (Carolyn) Long and Darell (Shannon) Long, and nieces and nephews.
His family was the center of his world, especially his grandchildren. He loved teaching them sports, taking them fishing, and making them wear Boston Red Sox gear. Graduating from Ellet High School in 1978, he was a well rounded athlete, a great friend to all, and never missed a reunion. Tom was a dedicated machinist at Wolfe Grinding for 47 years.
He never missed an opportunity to show up for his family. Throughout every stage of their lives, Tom showed up early, stayed late, and made his love felt. Outside of his family, he found his greatest joy on the Nay family farm in West Virginia surrounded by nature, tradition, and hunting. He loved using his carpentry skills to help others and was always willing to do anything for anyone. Some of his favorite memories were coaching his kids and so many others in soccer, being involved in Boy Scouts as a Scout Master, and volunteering at the Green Local Schools concession stand. Tom loved spending time with Dena, their love was and always will be forever. Tom will be remembered for his sense of humor and his smile, his optimism and kindness, and his love for family.
