Virgil N. Taylor

Virgil N. Taylor, 72, went home to be with the Lord on May 25, 2025. 

Born in Allegan, Michigan, he attended Palo Duro High School in Amarillo, Texas and lived most of his life in Akron, Ohio. He worked for Goodyear for 25+ years and was a truck driver for 14 years. He enjoyed golf and loved being around his family.

Virgil was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil Sr. and Dorothy, and brother, Lee. He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Sue Friend; sons, Nathin and Sean Taylor of Houston, TX; four grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; brothers, Keith (Sandra) of Appleton, Wisc., Robert (Connie) of Amarillo, TX; brother-in-law, Doug (Vicki) of Deerfield, OH; sister, Nadine (Tyson) of Amarillo, TX; numerous nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received Thursday, May 29th from 11:30am to 1:30pm at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Rd. Akron, OH 44312. A graveside service will take place at 2pm at Hillside Memorial Park, 1025 Canton Rd. Akron, OH 44312.
