Virginia Mae Corley

Virginia Mae Corley, 97, passed away on December 18, 2025.

Born February 21, 1928 in Valley Head, Va., Mom moved to Akron, Oh in 1957 with her husband Don and two small children: Bob and Charley. She began employment at JC Penney Company in Lakemore, Oh and retired in 1992.

Preceded in death her husband Donald Corley; by parents Arthur Ware and Mary Leary, brothers Virgil and Carl; sisters Elvie and Dorothy; son Charley; and two grandchildren Bobby and Christina Corley.

She leaves son, Robert (Donna); grandchildren Daniel (Tiffani) and Angelina (Tobie), Angela (Pete), Ashley (Joe), and Alyse (Scott); eight great grandchildren; special sister-in-law Shirley Baldwin and her son Donnie; and special niece Doris Doyle.

Virginia attended Oak Hill Presbyterian Church and loved the visits by Pastor Brian Nutt while she was in rehab and home visits.She talked like she was the only one he visited and we would tease her about that. She enjoyed the music program of Oak Hill’s talented members.

She found joy in keeping a nice home and watching Dad plant flowers in her yard.
