William “Bill” J. Rex, age 79, went home to be with the Lord on April 13, 2021.
Born in Akron on August 15, 1941, Bill lived in the Akron area his entire life. He graduated from Hoban High School in 1959. He retired from Armour Floors in 2010.
Bill was the guitarist in several local bands including Badge. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, tinkering in the garage, and took great pride in his home and yard. He was a great man, truly loved and admired.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents Alfred and Mary Rex. He is survived by his beloved wife of 22 years, Ellen; daughters Karen (Bobby), Michelle, Nicole (Jesse); grandchildren Krista, Ashley, Rachel, Erica, Kailey, Tayloure, Dylan, Hunter, Zachary, Caleb, Colton; fourteen great-grandchildren; brother Alan; sisters Janice and Gert (Greg); and several nieces and nephews.
Friends and family will be received on Monday, April 19, from 11 to 1 p.m. at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Road (Route 91), Akron (Ellet), Ohio 44312. A funeral service will be held immediately following at 1 p.m. with Father Michael Williamson officiating. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Akron.
