Doris J. Baker, age 90, passed away peacefully on April 24, 2022. She was born in Akron on March 17, 1932. She was an avid reader and loved to work on her amazing flower beds. Doris was preceded in death by her parents, Thelma and Dick Evans; siblings, Kenneth, Jack, Bob, and Wanda. She is survived by her siblings, Sharlene Baker and Margaret Smith; husband of 70 years, Lewis E. Baker; children, Jeff (Shirley), Georgine (Roger), Troy (Cathy), Mylene (Jim), and Melody; grandchildren, Adam Baker, Carissa Boyd (Andy), Zac Ferguson (Christy), Samantha Riley (Preston), Ashlie Miltner (Ross), Ryan Sullivan, Holly Headley (Rich), Jon Ferguson (Courtney), McKenzie Baker, and Morgan Baker; 13 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Many thanks to Joyce Thompson, Crossroads Hospice of Green, and the Village of St. Ed’s in Fairlawn for all their loving care. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association (diabetes.org). Friends and family will be received Friday, May 6th from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Rd. Akron (Ellet), Ohio 44312. Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. with burial to follow at Hillside Memorial Park.
